1) What is the biggest difference between high school sports and college sports?
College ball has a faster game pace than high school does. The players are bigger
and faster and you have a lot more competition than you did in high school.
2) What advice would you pass on to help prepare other KCK high school student athletes that
have the desire to play college sports?
When your sport isn't in season don't just sit around; get out and run and workout to
stay in shape.
3) What has been the highlight of your first semester of college?
Going into a new school and environment and adapting and overcoming all the
obstacles.
4) Who has inspired you the most when it comes to the game of footbal/wrestling?
I would have to say Jared Allen because he plays the same position i play and he is
a good person to try to be like.
5) How does it feel to represent the student athletes of KCK?
It feels pretty good, I mean its not every day that someone from KCK gets to go on to
the next level and try to make it big.
6) What keeps you going on the days when practice and school get difficult and you want to give
up?
The will to want to get better and make it big and knowing that i have my whole team
counting on me to be there.
7) Favorite Subject? Favorite Teacher? Why?
English with Mrs. T because she explains everything down to the last detail and
gives me extra help when I need it.
8) If you could go back in time and re-live your senior year in high school, what would you do
different? Why?
I would work harder to try to improve myself so i can get faster and stronger and try
to go D1.
9) Who introduced you to sports and at what age?
My Dad introduced me to the game of football in the 2nd grade.
10) How do you feel about KCK being granted its own RBI baseball chapter? Why?
I feel that it would be a good thing because it would give the kids here something to
work for and it would help them do better in school cause they are trying to make
something of themselves.
Jesse received a football scholarship from Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas
